So a few weeks ago we were offered the extremely exciting opportunity to photograph the Young Talent Big Dreams competition - the most widespread local FREE youth talent contest in Miami-Dade. The competition is hosted by Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, together with presenting sponsor, The Children's Trust.
Kids between the ages of 8-17 are invited to compete for prizes ranging from performing arts scholarships, cash awards, performance opportunities plus tickets to local attractions and theatres. The Grand Prize winner will receive a free trip – airfare, hotel and free passes for two – to attend the live FOX Teen Choice Awards, courtesy of WSVN-TV CH7, together with $500 in cash. The competition is going on from January until April 2020.
These kids, you should see them. They get one minute to audition. 60 seconds. They put their whole heart and souls into these auditions. Leave it all out there on the stage. If I had an ounce of the determination and drive these kids do, I’d be Kim Kardashians personal
photographer by now! 😂
But seriously, as teachers, we know personally how hard it is to navigate life as a preteen and teen already. They have so much to balance and so many things to juggle and they’re not even adults yet. On top of that, they already know what their passion is, they practice it every day and they come out to auditions like YTBD and they kill it. We are so blown away by these kids and so happy we get to capture these memories for them and their families!
