A few months ago we were contacted by Chelsea who was looking for images to capture her pregnancy and then the birth of her little boy. Matt shot their maternity at the beautiful Matheson Hammock Park and when their baby boy, Austin was born we both went to capture his newborn photos at their home in Homestead.
Chelsea tells the story of how she met Cliff and her brave journey to motherhood below:
"Cliff and I met about 9 years ago through a mutual friend and an unforgettable airboat ride. Ever since that day we have been inseparable. We spent the first five years together as a family of three, as Cliff has a daughter, Aubree, from a previous relationship. When we decided to start having children of our own we were blindsided by infertility. Four years of trying, seven losses, emergency ectopic pregnancy surgery, four failed artificial inseminations, and one successful round of IVF later, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy into this world. You never know what life will throw at you but I do know everything happens for a reason and I am proud to say that I feel blessed with this life I've been given."
We had a wonderful time shooting with this sweet family, Austin was a sleepy angel, and the family dog, Skylar, was around us the entire time, making sure that we were taking care of HER baby. They were gifted a gorgeous canoe by the former owner of Dolphin Boats that they were very excited to incorporate into the session. Cliff is an avid outdoorsman and he is so excited to share that with his son. He had everything ready for the photo, and Chelsea said that he even went on Pinterest to look for ideas! Although, I'm not sure I should be putting that on the internet! 🙈
