Fortune Cookies and Firsts

So this is it: our first blog post! Matt and I have been wanting to do this for a while but we've been a little shy about putting our lives out there! Since we decided to re-brand our business entirely, including changing our extremely supercalifragilisticexpialidociously long business name which was formerly Porter Photography and Productions, (say that three times fast) we decided why not just jump right in and start blogging too!? We're excited for our clients and anyone visiting our page to get to know us, both as a couple and individually. We really want to develop a relationship with our clients so that they feel comfortable telling us their story which will help us capture REAL moments through our lens. I had been thinking of completely changing up our business: slogan, name, website, EVERYTHING really, for a little while but I knew that Matt would be nervous about it especially when it felt like we'd just settled into our business routine after 3 years of getting our name out there. I was more than excited about the ideas running around in my head and I decided to bring them up at dinner at PF Changs (this was just last weekend!) Well, Matt was ALL for it! Yes, he was nervous but he was all in with me like he always is (reason 3,452 why I love this man). When we were paying for our meal, the waitress brought our fortune cookies and when Matt opened his, I KNEW right then that our plans for our business would work out. Call it luck, a sign, whatever you want, but for us it was a little kick in the butt to get moving because everything was going to work out. So we got right to work and in less than ONE week we had a new website, Facebook page, logo, business cards, email and most importantly a new mindset. This is OUR year! The year we take our photography to a new level. We want to connect with clients, we want to be their photographers through each milestone of their lives from engagements, to marriages, to births, to their children's pictures every year or every month (depending on how obsessed you are with your kiddos!) We also want you to get to know us. Why we do what we do, who we are, how we get the perfect shot, how we work, how we love, and live. We want to welcome you to our brand new website and blog. We hope you enjoy it and that you come back often. We're excited to share our stories and our clients' stories with you!
